The Larry Carlton A3DS from Sire is a dreadnought bodied guitar that delivers classic and refined acoustic sound whether amplified or unplugged. The solid spruce top provides a bold and highly dynamic foundation while the laminated mahogany body completes a solid construction that makes it less sensitive to humidity, so that the wood is less prone to warp over time. The stability of the set-in mahogany neck is supported by a matching mahogany fretboard and bridge, while optimum resonant transfer is ensured by a bone string nut and saddle. The complete construction results in a rich and deep acoustic sound, rounded off by refined overtones.

Thoughtfully, Sire have simply included a faux tortoiseshell scratchplate with the A3DS, so you can mount it only if you actually need it. Since this is a Larry Carlton dreadnought, it comes with a high-quality amplification system that registers the core acoustic sound using an under-saddle piëzo pickup and a microphone fitted inside the resonance chamber. Both signals are then processed by the integrated Zebra 7 SIB preamp to ensure excellent sound quality while three control knobs adjust the blend between the microphone and pickup, the EQ shaping of the amplified sound and the volume.
